The competition, organised every other year by the European Broadcasting Union and the North Sea Jazz Festival, involves jazz combos made up of musicians under the age of 30 nominated by European public service radio stations.
The ensemble's members were picked by MR3-Bartók Radio jazz editor Róbert Maloschik in a contest to find the best young jazz piano, doublebass and drum players. The musicians -- Árpád Oláh Tzumo, Krisztián Pecek Lakatos and András Pecek Lakatos, who happen to be cousins - played their debut concert at Hungarian Radio headquarters on December 19.
In Rotterdam, the ensemble will compete against bands from Germany, Norway, Ireland and the Netherlands.
