The showing will be the first of the film in Hungary outside of the capital, where it can be seen in the IMAX at Arena Plaza.
The City Cinema's biggest screening room will be specially outfitted to allow viewers - the screening room seats 539 - the full experience of the extraordinary film, said Szeged Youth Centre director Gyula Borsos. Preparations to show the film started already on December 15, he added.
U23D was shot on the South America arm of U2's Vertigo tour in February and March of 2006. The film captures the best of a hundred hours of footage from seven concerts shot with nine cameras and a staff of 140. The film premiered a year ago at the Sundance Film Festival.
