The Urania is organising Korean Film week between June 22 and 26 to mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Hungary and Korea. On the programme are ten films made over the past ten years. They include a love story, a drama, a horror, a crime story, a historical film, a film about sport and even a film about cooking contests.
Gidam, directed by Beom-sik Jeong and Jeong Sik, is about a series of horrifying events at a Korean hospital in the 1940s. Christmas in August, by the director Heo Jin-ho, follows the romance between a portrait photographer and a parking attendant. Forbidden Quest, by Kim Dae-woo, shows what happens when a scholar starts to write erotic fiction. Sik-Gaek, by Yun-su Jeon, follows a chef's return to competition following a tragedy.
