Várfok Gallery Shows Endre Rozsda

English

Rozsda, a pupil of Aba-Novák and friend of André Breton, was a charter member of the European School (1945-48), one of the most important art movements in 20th century Hungarian art.

The exhibitions will present Rozsda's early and late paintings, drawings and water colours, some never before seen in public, between April 21 and May 23.

Rozsda's early works on paper, made between 1935 and 1955, will be shown in the Várfok Hall, while his surrealist paintings made after WWII can be seen in XO Hall.

The Várnegyed Gallery is teaming up with the Várfok Gallery for the commemoration and will show a selection of Rozsda's early works. The open-air Gallery 19 will also show Rozda's works on glass panels.

Complementing the exhibitions, the Várnegyed Gallery will show films of the artist during its opening hours.
