The concert will feature special guests János Avéd, Dániel Redő and Bálint Gyémánt, all members of the Transform Quintet. The Smárton Trio will open the evening, with special guest Mátyás Premecz on Hammond organ.
The Veronika Harcsa Quartet released their first album, a collection of standards entitled Speak Low, in 2005. It was released in Japan last year and has topped the jazz charts at the Tower Records chain there. The quartet's second album, entitled You Don't Know It's You and released on the Smartmusic label, features all original material.
Harcsa has studied at the Liszt Music Academy since 2004. She sings with the Erik Sumo Band as well as with her own group, and she performs contemporary dance and music pieces with the Off Company troupe. She has been a guest singer with some of Hungary's best known musical acts, including Freestyle Chamber Orchestra, the Budapest Jazz Orchestra, the Fugato Orchestra, Korai Öröm, Pannonia Allstars Ska Orchestra and Colorstar. Harcsa won "Best Sound" prize at the Budapest Fringe Festival in 2007.
