The production will be shown at an international festival organised by the Korean National Theatre. Last year, a production of The Tempest by Tsui Hark, a director from Hong Kong who has made a name for himself in Hollywood, was one of the highlights at the festival.

The new production of Othello is ?a very important, inspiring and emblematic piece? that explores differences between cultures, the theatre says of the piece.
The conference Eszenyi participated at in Seould was organised by the Korean National Theatre to mark its 60th anniversary. It focused on the future of large theatres, their systems of financing and roles in cultural exchange.
Also invited to the conference were the heads of the Turkish, the Chinese, the Korean and the Japanese national theatres, the National Theatre of Bordeaux and the Thalia Theatre in Hamburg.
?It is very interesting to see how rapidly the Koreans are developing. They also want to learn about theatre and were interested in learning out about the situation of large theatres in other countries, how they are operated, what kind of programmes they have and how their financing works,? Eszenyi said.
The participants at the conference were impressed with the Vígszínház's high degree of professionalism in spite of its relatively low budget, Eszenyi said. The
Vígszínház's budget is just one-tenth of that of the Thalia in Hamburg, she added.
