Dreadzone

From July 2, almost 250 acts will perform over four days in Sopron. Goran Bregovic Wedding and Funeral Band, well known from Kusturica films, require no introduction. The Balkan virtuosos Shantel & Bucovina Club Orkestar, a much sought after act on Europe's festival circuit, will also perform. Rounding out the world music programme is Manu Chao member Roy Paci.

The opening day of the festival will bring Dreadzone, a dub-reggae-breakbeat-house act Hungarian fans have long awaited.

Arriving from the UK is one of punk rock's most important acts, Exploited. On the same stage, Swedish group Clawfinger will perform.

France's Nouvelle Vague will play an easier set, and Germany's Frank Popp and band promises to create a real party mood.

The Austrian duo Richard Dorfmeister and Rupert Huber, well known for their live sets, will play, and Rodney Hunter & Live Band will promote material from their new album.

Canada's Tiga, one of the most exciting figures on the electro-trash scene, is on the programme, as is Roni Size, who will arrive with a sizable ensemble. Electro crooner Louie Austen will return to VOLT with the Senor Coconut Orchestra, and, bringing lots of laughs, will be Sirqus Alfon.
