Works by Hungarian composers Bela Bartok, Zoltan Kodaly, Ferenc Liszt, Gyorgy Kurtag and Leo Weiner will be performed at the museum of applied arts. The Regos dance ensemble will show Hungarian dances and Joseph Haydn's opera "L'incontro improvviso" will have its South American premiere. Two evenings will be dedicated to writer Sandor Marai and an exhibition will be held about his life work, using material on loan from Budapest's Petofi Literary Museum.
The Hungarian week has been organised by the local Ars Hungarica Civil Organisation for the Promotion of Culture and Music and the events have been sponsored by Hungarians living in Argentina, the Hungarian Ministry of Education and Culture and the Hungarian embassy in Buenos Aires.
