Young Hungarian pianist wins two prizes at Los Angeles competition

(MTI) - Toth, 27, has been awarded the competition's grand prize as well as first prize in the category of longer works by an international jury ahead of 208 contenders from the United States and six other nations, said the consulate.
    In the category of longer works the young artist from Bekescsaba (SE Hungary) performed Liszt variations on Weinen, Klagen, Sorgen and Zagen (weeping, lamenting, worrying, fearing) and played his Funerailles in a close.
    Toth has earned his music teacher degree at the Budapest Franz Liszt Academy of Music. He currently is on a fellowship at Texas Christian University.
