Zemplén Festival Offers Preview

The Zemplén Festival EXTRA will start with a concert by the Budapest String Orchestra in Szerencs, followed by a performance of Haydn's The Creation by the Budapest Academy Chorus with the Dohnányi Orchestra of Budafok in Tokaj. Haydn's opera Le Pescatrici will be staged by the Crescendo Summer Academy Chorus with renowned soloists Yang Li and Adrian Prelucan.
 
 
In August, festival-goers will be offered a performance by the Vox Arborum Chamber Music Workshop, said festival director Miklós Turjányi.
 
Dohnányi Orchestra of Budafok will play a programme of excerpts from popular soundtracks, and Mitsoura, the Gábor Gadó Quartet and the Cotton Club Singers will bring jazz to the festival.  Folk diva Márta Sebestyén will sing on the open-air stage of Sárospatak.
 
 
 
The Experidance dance troupe will perform, and Béla Pintér and his troupe will bring their production of The Beggar's Opera.
 
The festival will again feature wine and food-tasting events.
