The junior talent prize went to János Haller, a member of the Szeged Contemporary Ballet.

 
The jury for this year's prizes was headed by the ballet dancer György Szakály. It comprised director of the Győr Ballet János Kiss, head of the Szeged Contemporary Ballet András Pataki, artistic director of the Hungarian State Opera Balázs Kovalik the actress Judit Schell and the journalist Katalin Szemere.
 
The Hungarian Ballet and Contemporary Dance Prize, which is presented each year to a mature talent and an up-and-coming talent, was established by Philip Morris in 1993 as the successor to the Hungarian Ballet Prize.
 
A special tribute was paid to Zoltán Nagy Jr. at the ceremony on Wednesday. Nagy, who headed the Hungarian Dance Academy and performed on stages around the world, died in March, at the age of 42, following a serious illness. He was the first recipient of the Hungarian Ballet and Contemporary Dance Prize
