Art Exhibitions on Pécs2010 Programme

The city's Pécs Gallery and Visual Arts Workshop will host the Arad Fine Arts Biennale, dubbed Meeting Point 2, with Romanian partners from Friday. The travelling exhibition can be seen in Pécs until February 14.
 
An exhibition of icons can be seen in Pécs's Cella Septichora from January 22 until February 28. An open-air exhibition of photographs called Pécs Mobilart can be seen at different venues around the city between May 7 and November 30.

 Mihály Munkácsy: Ecce Homo

The great Hungarian painter Mihály Munkácsy's  Christ trilogy - Golgotha, Ecce Homo and Christ Before Pilate - can be seen in Pécs's Nagy Lajos Gymnasium from March until October.

 
An exhibition on a Syrian-Hungarian archaeological dig and another on the Kingdom of Hungary in the 13th century will also take place.
 
The Dom Museum will host an exhibition of Ravenna mosaics from April 10.

Work by contemporary Croatian and Bosnian artists can be seen at several venues between June and August.

 
Pécs will host an international and national origami convention on August 13-15.
 
Hungarians involvement in the Bauhaus school can be seen in an exhibition between August 15 and October 15.
 
From mid-September until the end of the year, the Ráth Community Centre will show Roma art.
 
A show of works by Pécs's best known artists, among them the sculptor István Bencsik and the painters Ferenc Lantos, Sándor Pinczehelyi and István B. Geller will also take place.
