"Digital technology and permeation of the Internet secures a never seen communication potential for the artists of the XXIst century. The theoretically unlimited possibilities are source of a new, exciting tension. New tools have been created for hiding real identities and creating virtual personalities. At the festival the audience will hear and see examples of how artists apply the new tools in their pieces," the festival's organisers say on their website.
One of the highlights on the festival programme will be a performance of the recently deceased composer Karlheinz Stockhausen's Mantra by the pianists Jennifer Hymer and Bernhard Fograscher together with the electronic musician Georg Hajdu.
David Moss, one of contemporary music's most multi-faceted personalities, will bring a performance entitled "Music By, For and Against John Cage" to the festival. Moss will also lead two workshops within the framework of the programme.
Among the Hungarians at the festival will be the "dancer-musicians" Andrea Ladányi and Zsolt Bánki, as well as the electronic musician Andrea Szigetvárri.
The festival will take place at the Trafó and at the Liszt Music Academy.
