Cseh died on August 7, aged 66, after a long illness.
Géza Bereményi, the screenplay writer, film director and co-writer of some of Cseh's songs, mourned the passing of a creative source and a friend. "I am terribly curious about the songs we never gave birth too, but from now on they are lost children, a lot of them, all unknown," Bereményi said.
Berményi said Cseh had "left a good trail behind him." "I, who have seen how many great people die in vain can finally say about somebody, about you, Tamás: they love you here, and will love you. From Transylvania to Canada and to the United States, wherever Hungarians have been scattered, everywhere they will happily remember you."
Following the Roman Catholic funeral, Cseh's family, friends and admirers, among them, the musicians László "Hobo" Földes, Ákos Kovács, Dániel Gryllus, István Márta and László Benkő; the actors Péter Scherer, Károly Eperjes, Károly Nemcsák, Zoltán Mucsi and Sándor Gáspar; the directors Ferenc Török and László Bérczes; the cinematographer Lajos Koltai; the writer János Háy, the Reformed bishop Gustzáv Bölcskei; and the politicians Viktor Orbán and Bálint Magyar, paid their final respects,
