The theatre will start the season with a performance of a piece by the contemporary German playwright Lutz Hübner which the company staged already in May, said director Ildikó Frank. The piece is about a rehearsal of Goethe?s Faust and brings the audience behind the scenes, she added.

The play, directed by Florin Gabriel Ionescu, features the actors Juliane Baldy, Alica Weirauch, Matthias Patzelt and Tom Pilath.

The theatre will show the Hungarian premiere of the France writer Matei Visniec?s Paparazzi in October. The Romanian Dan Topa will direct the piece.

The last piece of the season, in November, will be Eugene Ionesco?s absurd drama The Lesson, from 1971.

The DBU is rehearsing two pieces for children, directed by Verena Koch: an Andersen tale and a Hungarian story by János Garay, who was born 200 years ago.
