The more than seven hour long film, which premiered in 1994, was placed among such cinematic masterpieces as Battleship Potemkin, 8 ? and The Searchers. Alfred Hitchcock?s Vertigo was at the top of the list.
The list was compiled based on a poll of 846 critics, programmers, academics and distributors.
