Born in Budapest, Kallai began early violin training with his father, and already at the age of twelve he had been admitted to the Exceptionally Talented Children?s class of the Liszt Academy of Music. In 2006 he moved to the United States to study at the Juilliard School.
Kállai made his debut with the New York Philharmonic in 2011, and has appeared as a soloist with the Danubia Orchestra, CEI Youth Orchestra, Boca Raton Symphonia, Gyor Philharmonic, Weiner-Szasz Chamber Symphony, and the Roma Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra. Erno has played in venues such as Avery Fisher Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Carnegie?s Weill Recital Hall, Chicago's Symphony Hall, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, McCarter Theater, Adrienne Arsht Center in Miami, and the Palace of Arts in Budapest
Kállai has won numerous awards and prizes, including first prize of the Carl Flesch International Violin Competition in 2008, first prize at the Juilliard Concerto Competition in 2008, a Valerie Beth Schwartz Career Grant from Salone de Virtuosi in 2007, first prize at the Alexander & Buono International String Competition, and awards from the Semmering Music Festival in 2004, among others.
