The Offspring |
The Offspring from Los Angeles, Snow Patrol from Glasgow, and Die Toten Hosen from Dusseldorf will perform at the festival, the organisers said.
The punk band The Offspring has sold some 50 million records worldwide. After a long hiatus, they recently returned to the studio to record a new album, called Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace, released last summer.
Snow Patrol, an Irish and Scottish alternative rock band, will also be touring with U2 for the No Line on the Horizon tour.
Die Toten Hosen, the cult German punk band, boasts a number of gold and platinum albums during a career that spans decades.
Other international acts confirmed in the festival programme include the ethno-ska band Hadamaky from Ukraine and the Finnish post-hardcore band Disco Ensemble.
The English electronic music artist Squarepusher, aka Tom Jenkinson, who has released 12 albums in 10 years, is sure to impress festival-goers, and the Swedish new-wave glam punk band Backyard Babies will bring their own interpretation of punk music to Sziget.
The English dance music duo Coldcut will bring their mix of hip hop and jazz-style samples to the festival, and the French electro scene will be represented by Birdy Nam Nam, a DJ crew who won the DMC World DJ Championship in 2002.
