Satyricon's two core members -- songwriter, singer and guitarist Satyr; and Frost, one of the fastest drummers on the scene -- were joined by four other musicians for the show.
The acoustics in the tent made it impossible to hear the complex sounds of Frost's drumming and the band's trademark synthesizer sound. Not only was the sound bad, fans could hardly see the band through the copious amounts of smoke.
Satyricon played a set that was heavy on material from their last two albums and light on songs from their best album, Volcano, from 2002. Some of the songs performed were disappointingly different from the studio versions.
Although Satyricon's show at the Sziget wasn't the cheap, commercialized affair, of which some black metal fans have accused the band of being part, it was not the band's most memorable performance either.
