10th French Film Festival to Play in Eight Cities Around Hungary

The films will show at Budapest?s Corvin cinema on April 20-23, and the festival will also travel to Debrecen, Eger, Győr, Miskolc, Kecskemét, Szeged and Pécs.

The list of directors includes such well-known names as André Techiné and Jacques Audiard, as well as festival favourite Michael Haneke. The festival will also feature a young director who already enjoys a great reputation: François Ozon.

Some of France?s best actors and actresses can be seen in the films, including Sophie Marceau, Catherine Deneuve, Gérard Depardieu, Juliette Binoche, Daniel Auteuil, Jeanne Moreau, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Emmanuelle Béart.

To coincide with the festival, Budapest?s Örökmozgó cinema will present a retrospective entitled ?10 Years ? 10 Films ? 10 Women?, which pays tribute to one of the greatest French actresses: Jeanne Moreau, while the Szindbád cinema will show films with another famous French actor, Gérard Depardieu.

The 10th French Film Festival will feature the following films:

Director Jérőme Salle?s thriller ?Anthony Zimmer?, starring Sophie Marceau, Yvan Attal, Sami Frey and Gilles Lellouche. The film was nominated for the César award in the ?best first film? category in 2006.

André Techiné?s drama ?Les Temps qui changent?, starring Catherine Deneuve and Gérard Depardieu. The film was nominated for the Golden Bear award at the Berlinale in 2005.

Michael Haneke?s thriller ?Caché?, with Juliette Binoche, Daniel Auteuil and Daniel Duval. The film won the best director award at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival as well as the Europa Film award for best film, director and actor (Daniel Auteuil).

François Ozon?s drama ?Le Temps qui reste? stars Melvil Poupaud and Jeanne Moreau.

Dominique Moll?s drama ?Lemming? stars Laurent Lucas, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Charlotte Rampling. It was nominated for the Palm D?Or at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival, and Charlotte Rampling was nominated for the César award in 2006 for best supporting actress.

Jacques Audiard?s thriller ?De battre mon coeur s'est ar?te? stars Romain Duris, Niels Arestrup and Jonathan Zaccai. The film won the award for best score at the 2005 Berlinale, as well as the 2006 César awards for best adaptation, best director, best supporting actor ((Niels Arestrup), best new female actress (Linh-Dan Pham), best score, best editing and best cinematography.

Laila Marrakchi?s romantic drama ?Marock? stars Morjana El Alaoui, Mathieu Boujenah and Razika Simozrag.

Danis Tanovic?s drama ?L'enfer? features Emmanuelle Béart, Karin Viard, Marie Gillain and Guillaume Canet.

Alexandre Castagnetti and Corentin Julius?s comedy ?L'Incruste? stars Titoff, Frédéric Diefenthal and Zoé Félix.

Eric Civanyan?s comedy ?Il ne faut jurer...de rien!? stars Gérard Jugnot, Jean Dujardin, Mélanie Doutey and Marie-France Santon. Doutey was nominated for the 2006 César award for best supporting actress in the film.
