Hungary's Tankcsapda will launch the festival on August 10 - day -1 - with a 20th anniversary performance. Laci Lukács has promised the biggest concert in the band's history, and perhaps a new song.

Performing on the main stage will be The Prodigy, whose fifth studio album Invaders Must Die is a big hit in Hungary and around the world. Norman Cook, also known as the legendary Fatboy Slim will also promote his fifth album at the festival.

Placebo will certainly bring material from their new album Battle for the Sun, to be released on June 8, 2009, to the festival. "We've made a record about choosing life, about choosing to live, about stepping out of the darkness and into the light" front man Brian Molko says of the album.

The extravagant British acid-rave sci-fi punk band Klaxons is on the programme, as are the chaotic break-beat heavy Pendulum, led by Gareth McGrillen and Rob Swire. Indie powerhouse Bloc Party will blend musical inspiration from Sonic Youth, The Cure and Joy Division. Ska fans will be happy to see Spain's Ska-P return to the festival for the third time.

On the World Music Stage, Calexico, from Arizona, will have their Hungarian debut. Also performing for the first time in Hungary will be the Congolese So Kalmery, which blends Central-African styles, reggae and guitar based dance music. North African and Spanish flavours mingle in the electronic-based music of the 08001 cult collective from Barcelona, while the French-Algerian Speed Caravan creates, perhaps, the most radical and fastest lyre music ever heard. Returning to the festival will be the Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club
