Academy Celebrates International Music Day With Free Concert

On the programme will be works by Franz Liszt, Béla Bartók, David Popper, Zoltán Kodály, Jenő Hubay, Ernő Dohnányi, Pongrácz Kacsóh, Ferenc Lehár and Imre Kálmán, almost all of whom are former students of the academy. The concert will conclude with a jazz finale.

The evening will be hosted by Music Academy director András Batta.

Ernő Dohnányi: Cascade; Rhapsody in C-major
Imre Kálmán: Queen of the Czardas ? Sylvia?s Entrance
Pongrácz Kacsóh: Gallant John, Song of Bagó; Gallant John ? Song of the French Princess
Ferenc Lehár: The Merry Widow - Duet
Jazz finale with: Gábor Farkas, Árpád Kákonyi, Ernő Fehér, László Borbély, István Lajkó, Valéria Polyák and László Szekeres on piano; Ádám Banda, Claudia Zorbas and Lajos Sárközi on violin; István Várdai playing cello; and Gábor Farkas, Csaba Szegedi, Ildikó Szakács and Rita Rácz singing.
