The recording, on the MDG label, features Haydn's Symphony No. 88 The Letter V and Symphony No. 101 The Clock as well as the overture to the opera L'isola diabitata.
Fischer established the orchestra with Austrian and Hungarian musicians in 1987. The orchestra performs regularly at the Eszterházy Castle in Eisenstadt, Austria, where Hadyn was court musician, as well as at festivals around the world.
The Echo Award is the orchestra's second. It has also won a Gramophone award.
