Albannach Announces Short Story Competition

English

The society is accepting one short story per applicant of up to 5,000 characters before the deadline on August 10. Entries may be sent to info@skocia.hu where they will be evaluated by a jury of writers, translators and journalists.

Writers may pick from three topics to write about. Under the ?Contemporary Scottish Adventures? topic, writers may produce any story describing their own experiences in today?s Scotland, whether it be travel memoir or otherwise. Writers may submit their stories about Loch Ness, ghosts in castles or other mysteries under the theme ?Scotland the Mystical Country?, and stories about Celtic fairies, druids or other creatures of the region?s mythology may be entered under the ?Celtic Mythology? topic.

The best stories will be posted on Albannach?s website, www. skocia.hu and published in the autumn issue of its journal. The contest winners will be announced on September 1.
