Conference participants will explore fiction and propaganda in Greek and Roman literature, philosophy and arts.
The conference will start with talks by Miklós Maróth, who is in charge of social sciences at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Professor Tibor Szepessy and Imre Tegyey.
The historian and archaeologist László Török, also a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, will deliver a lecture on Saturday. Section programmes will be held between Friday and Sunday at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences building in Dóm Square.
The event's chief patron is Minister of Education and Culture István Hiller. Supporting patrons include outgoing president of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences Szilveszter E. Vizi and Szeged Mayor László Botka.
