The exhibition, entitled "A Little Bit of the Future and a Little Bit of the Past", can be visited at the Heritage Gallery, located at KÖH?s main office at Táncsics Mihály u. 1, District I.
Hack began documenting Budapest's Art Nouveau buildings as part of an international initiative uniting European cities with a strong Art Nouveau heritage several years ago. Hack uses innovative composition and strong light contrasts to bring out the colour and details of these beautiful buildings.
Art Nouveau, which replaced the well-defined angles of eclectic historicism with organic curves, was especially popular around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. In Hungary, the movement was seen as an opportunity to create a national architectural style. Some of its most famous practitioners were Ödön Lechner, who designed the Museum of Applied Arts, and Károly Kós, who designed the Budapest Zoo.
The exhibition is open every day of the week from 9:00?17:00 until 7 September. It is presented in both Hungarian and English.
