Yumechiyo?s Diary (Yumechiyo nikki) is about a woman suffering from leukemia as a result of exposure to radiation from an atomic blast while still in her mother?s womb. Late in life, she returns home and meets a man with whom she develops a relationship. But he hides some terrible secrets.

 
Barefoot Gen (Hadashi no Gen) is an animated film about the effects of the bomb dropped on Hiroshima as seen through the eyes of a young boy. It was based on the autobiographical graphic novel by Nakazawa Keiji.
 
The films will be shown in the original language with English subtitles. The screenings ? two a month until the end of the year - are supported by the Japan Foundation.
