Ascher's Ivanov Captivates Finnish Audiences

Finnish daily Helsingin Sanomat called the performance is "a sparkling gem, a classic work but at the same time unconventional... The direction is so precise, well-planned and diversified - scenes can transform from wild laughter to cold cynicism without suffering any logical interruption." 

 
Though the production premiered at the Helsinki City Theatre in the spring, it was not added to the theatre's repertoire until the autumn. Ascher travelled to Helsinki earlier this week to rehearse the play and make minor changes.
