(MTI) - The opera companies auditioning the singers for productions they will mount are Balti Opera in Gdansk, Theater Bremen in Germany, Opera de Rennes in France, Szeged's National Theatre and Dicapo Opera in New York.
In the first audition round, which will take place in the European cities in November, juries select competitors for the January second round, on base of vocal capabilities and musical talent.
All the finished performances will be shown during a festival to be held in Szeged between November 2 and 17, 2008, after which an international jury will announce the winner, she added. Mezzo, which is dedicated to classical music, opera and jazz, will broadcast all the performances and Hungarian public television plans a live broadcast of the awards ceremony.
