Balassagyarmat Hosts International Music Camp

Some 130 students, aged 12 to 35, arrived from South Korea, Italy, Israel, Mexico, Canada, Sweden, Slovakia, Romania and the United States to participate at the camp.
 

Among the master class teachers were György Déri, a professor at the Liszt Music Academy in Budapest University who taught cello at the camp for the first time. Ferenc Kerek, the rector of the University of Szeged Conservatory, as well as Balázs Szokolay, Gábor Eckhardt and the Italian Paolo Pollice taught piano. Eszter Perényi held violin master classes, and Iván Madarász instructed chamber music. Gusztáv Fenyő came from Scotland to teach piano and chamber music. Roni Porat, from Israel, gave a master class in conducting and orchestral music.

 
The aim of the camp was to give developing talents a chance to show their skills and learn more from renowned musicians.
