Started four years ago by three jazz lovers, Jazz Fiesta is now a summer-long series of events.
One of the festival?s founders, Endre Varga, himself a musician, said he and two friends, one in journalism and the other in the catering business, wanted to see high-quality entertainment brought to the shores of the lake. They also aimed to give some of the local jazz talent a chance to take the stage, he added.
The range of the artists at Jazz Fiesta has grown over the years and now the concerts take place every Thursday until the end of summer.
Jazz Fiesta will kick off with a show by the saxophonist Gábor Kollmann and the singer Orsolya Urbán on July 7. In the following weeks, Gábor Winand will perform as will István Gyárfás and a group from Austria.
