Tarr will be a guest of honour at the festival which takes place on January 20-27.
Tarr?s latest film, The Turin Horse, the director?s dark vision of the end in a microcosm of bleak tedium, is on the festival programme.
The Turin Horse, won the Jury Grand Prix Silver Bear and the Competition FIPRESCI Prize at this year?s Berlin Film Festival. It also took the FIPRESCI prize at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. It is Hungary?s submission for Best Foreign Language Film at next year?s Oscars.
