The show will be the group?s first in Poland.
?We will mostly play songs from our most recent album Down the Garden, which came out after a six-year hiatus, but there will be some older songs, as well. We will play about an hour and a half,? said Gergő Barcza, one of the band?s founders.
Besh o droM ? the name means ?ride the road? or ?do your thing? in the lovari dialect of the Romani people ? was formed in 1999 and published their first record, entitled ?Macho Embroidery?, in 2000. Their sophomore album was ?Can?t Make Me!?, released in 2003, which was followed by ?GYI!? in 2004 and ?Once I Catch The Devil? in 2006.
Besh o droM?s music reflects a mixture of traditional Balkan, Romanian, Roma and Middle-Eastern influences, performed on folk as well as electric instruments.
Their latest album includes a song from India, inspired by six months Barcza spent there.
The eight-member group includes Ádám Pettik on derbuka (a percussion instrument from the Balkans) and vocals, József Csurkulya on cimbalom, Vilmos Seres on clarinet, Péter Vadász on drums, Attila Herr on bass guitar, Attila Sidoo on guitar and Lili Kaszai on vocals.
Globaltica, which was launched in 2004, runs from Thursday till Sunday.
