Biksady Gallery Shows Work of Women Photographers

English

Ergy Landau, born Erzsi Landau, and Nora Dumas, born Nóra Kelenföldi Telekes, first joined forces in Paris in 1929, establishing a partnership that would last almost a decade.

The central motif of their work was the different roles of women. Although many of their photographs deal with the issues of nudism and femininity, they also showed their talent in portrait photography, as well as images of children, fashion photography and documentary photography.

Among the images in the show are some by Landau taken in China during a visit as part of UNESCO delegation in 1954.

Dumas? images in the exhibition show everyday rural life in France and Switzerland.
