English

The dance critic Márta Péter has edited and contributed to a book that shows Frenák's life, his work and his experiments. Interview with Frenák bring the artist closer, both to his person and his work. The book speaks to Frenák's fans as well as to all lovers of dance.

The book contains photographs of Frenák pieces never before published.

Frenák's troupe says his "performances are built up from a diversity of moves that are inspired by human relationships, man and his environment. These often give rise to the most loaded situations, the widest range of variations. Frenák's works are not snapshots or passing emotions, but far-reaching questions which he poses with a highly visual approach that throws open the gates of the imagination."

"Comprising a variety of classical and modern techniques the company's profile stands for a unique style and dance language. One of its most important characteristics is the use of mimics, sign language and body movements that reflect on various egress (circus, theatre, fashion shows)."

The author of the book and its subject will take part in the book launch at the Trafó on Saturday.
