Some 500 exhibitors from 25 countries presented more than 50,000 books at the four-day fair. About 250 books were published especially for the occasion.

A reading by the festival?s guest of honour Amos Oz, an event for first-time novelists from Europe and the children?s programme were the biggest draws at the festival, said Imre Barna, head of the Hungarian Book Publishers and Booksellers Association.

The Hungarian translation of Amos Oz?s new book sold out in just two days, Barna said.
