Budapest Festival Orchestra nominated for two Gramophone Awards

The BFO's recording of Beethoven's five piano concertos released on the American label Nonesuch, with Richard Goode as soloist, is a nominee in the Concerto Category. The orchestra's recording of Mahler's Symphony No. 4, with Miah Persson as soloist, released on the Channel Classics label is among the finalists in the Orchestral Category.

 
The BFO, under the baton of Iván Fischer, was the only symphony orchestra nominated in two categories for Gramophone Awards.
 
The orchestra won a Gramophone Award for its recording of Bartok's The Miraculous Mandarin in 1998 and for its recording of Mahler's Symphony No. 2 in 2007.
