Budapest Festival Orchestra holds Beethoven marathon on Sun

From 1030 am to late in the evening altogether eleven concerts will be given in the two halls of the Palace of Arts.

   
Solo performers will include violinists Barnabas Kelemen and Jozsef Lendvay and pianists Klara Wurtz and Denes Varjon. The marathon will close with BFZ rendering Symphony No. 7 under the baton of Ivan Fischer.
   
The programme will be complete with screenings of films, for instance on Herbert von Karajan conducting symphonies and Leonard Bernstein conducting Fidelio.
   
The Bonn-based Beethoven House, holding the world's most comprehensive Beethoven collection, will display documents about the composition and premiere of Symphony No. 9
   
The previous two music marathons were dedicated to Tchaikovsky and Dvorak.
