Budapest Hosts European Jazz Bridge on May 1

The performances will take place all day on a special stage constructed on the Danube bank near Vörösmarty Square. Late in the evening, the venue will move to the Columbus Jazz Ship.

 
Among the foreign guests at the festival will be the trumpet player Jens Winther from Denmark, the multitalented guitarist Andreu Zaragoza from Spain, the Israeli pianist, professor and festival director Dan Gottfried, the Brazilian Alegre Corréa, who played guitar in Joe Zawinul's band, the British saxophonist Mornington Lockett and the excellent Italian saxophonist Rosario Giuliani.
 
The line-up of Hungarian musicians will include Béla Szakcsi Lakatos, László Dés, Mihály Borbély, Kálmán Oláh, Kornél Horváth and Kornél Fekete-Kovács. The younger generation of Hungarian jazz musicians will be represented by Tzumó, Gábor Bolla and the Márton Fenyvesi - Miklós Borbély quintet. Gyula Babos and his quartet will play with Dan Gottfried, István Baló and Mátyás Szandai, while the Modern Art Orchestra has invited Tamás Berki and Zoltán Lantos for a jam session.
