So far, there are 24 famous Budapest sites that Google Earth users can see in 3D, including the Széchenyi Baths, Heroes' Square, the Basilica, the Mathias Church and the Műcsarnok. But the company that creates the images plans to add another 50 each year.
Budapest Mayor Gabor Demszky said that the cutting edge technology would boost tourism in the capital.
András Iván Bojár, a city advisor who came up with the idea to create the images in Google Earth said the 3D landmarks would serve as a kind of calling card for the city.
