James Domine introduced the concert as a celebration of Hungarian music, Los Angeles chief consul Balázs Bokor said.

Bartók's Concerto for Orchestra was on the first part of the programme and Kodály's Háry János Suite and Kallo Double Dance was on the second part.

The San Fernando Valley Symphonic Orchestra has performed more than a thousand concerts since it was established by Domine in 1979.

The Kodály Choir, made up of Hungarians who live in California, was founded in 1974. Emőke Érseki has led the choir for 16 years.
