Candy Dulfer Brings Sax Appeal to Budapest

English

Dulfer, the daughter of the renowned Dutch tenor saxophonist Hans Dulfer, started playing the saxophone at age six. She made her first studio recording at the age of 11 and formed her first band at age 14. Dulfer opened for Madonna at Rotterdam?s Feyenoord Stadium in 1987 and became the darling of a number of other musical acts, including Prince, who even contributed a song to her 1993 album Sax-a-go-go, and the Eurythmics? Dave Stewart, with whom she collaborated on the soundtrack for Robert Altman?s Cookie?s Fortune.

Dulfer will play at Budapest?s Petőfi Csarnok with Rosie Gaines ? vocals; Berget Lewis ? vocals; Chance Howard - keyboard, vocals; Rhonda Smith - bass, vocals; Ulco Bed ? guitar; Thomas Bank ? keyboards; and Kirk A. Johnson ? drums. A number of the members of the band also play with Prince when he goes on tour.
