Cha-cha-cha, the brainchild of Attila Tihanyi, opened in a 63-square-metre storefront in the Kálvin tér underpass in January 2000. From the start the space was decked out with a retro look that often changed, reacting perhaps to the changing face of the city. The venue grew too, tripling in size as it drew bigger and bigger crowds, all coming to see the best DJ house parties Budapest had to offer. Among the regulars were many foreigners, including Swedes, Brits and Americans.
