The two-day festival featured eight films made in the past two years. The screenings were free of charge and attracted capacity crowds at the theatre, which holds 700 people.

The opening film, Full Circle, was repeated twice on the second day due to big demand.

The China in Close-up festival programme included dramas, comedies and animated films. The twelve screenings were attended by more than 2,000 people, the organisers said.

The festival programme also included question and answer sessions with actress Yan Bingyan from Full Circle and director of the film Mother Ning Cai.

A delegation of Chinese film professionals visiting Hungary during the festival met Hungarian colleagues to discuss Hungarian-Chinese cooperation opportunities, the communications directorate said.
