Codices on Display at Eötvös Loránd University Library

The collection of the Eötvös Loránd University Library contains 137 Latin, seven Arabic, two Turkish, two Ethiopian, two Persian, 11 Slavic, eight Hungarian, six German and four Greek and four Italian codices. Some of these are classified as national treasures, such as the Corvinus manuscripts and the eight Hungarian codices, among which are the Cornides codex copied by the Dominican nun Lea Ráskai. Some of the collection is from the libraries of old Hungarian monastic orders; others, including the Corvinus manuscripts, were received as gifts from the Turkish Sultan Abdul Hamid II in 1877.

The Eötvös Loránd University Library is located at Ferenciek tere 6, in District V. It is open Monday ? Friday from 10:00 to 18:00. The exhibition is open until July 7.
