Some of the biggest attractions during the eleven-day festival, that started on November 23, were a rendering of Hadar Galdron's play Mikve by Israel's Beit Lessin Theatre and a production of René Pollesch's play When Can I Go to the Supermarket and Buy What I need Only Because I'm Good-Looking? by the Schauspiel Stuttgart.
Israel was the guest of honour at this year's festival, but troupes also came from Romania, Russia, Germany and Canada, in addition to Hungary.
German professor of theatre studies Dr. Hans-Thies Lehmann held a seminar analysing the Hungarian performances at the festival as part of the programme.
