(MTI) - The exhibition in the Pera Museum presents 39 of Csontvary's paintings including his emblematic oil-on-canvas "The Lonely Cedar" from 1907. Csontvary won inspiration for the monumental work during his travels to Lebanon.
The paintings are on loan from Budapest's National Gallery and the Csontvary Museum in Pecs, in the framework of an exchange with Istanbul, also a European Capital of Culture this year . The Csontvary exhibition will run until mid-December.
