The plaque reads: "Planted by the Hungarian Embassy in Beirut, the Lebanese-Hungarian Friendship Association, the Association of (Lebanese) Alumni of Hungarian Universities, and the Cedar Woods Friends Committee to mark the 100th anniversary of the creation of the paintings The Lone Cedar and Pilgrimage to the Cedars."

The Lone Cedar and Pilgrimage to the Cedars are among Csontváry's most important paintings.

Next to the plaque, a special area has been set aside to allow visiting Hungarians the chance to plant a cedar sapling in the future.

The organisations which laid the plaque have are also preparing a one-week art camp for Hungarian and Lebanese artists in May 2008. The camp is called In Csontváry's Footsteps.

The Lone Cedar was shown in the spring at an exhibition marking the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome. The painting was purchased in 1994 by the National Bank of Hungary and loaned to the Csontváry Museum in Pécs in 2005.
