The highlighted writers are Petra Nagyová from Slovakia, the Hungarian Zoltán Kőrösi, Niccolo Ammaniti from Italy, the Brit Ian McEwan, Urs Widmer from Switzerland, Meis Heinsaar from Estonia, Rui Cardoso Martins from Portugal, Andrei Makine from France, Toine Heijmans from the Netherlands, the Austrian Daniel Glattauer, Gabriela Adamesteanu from Romania, the German Jenny Erpenbeck, Elina Hirvonen from Finland, Trisse Gejl from Denmark, the Norwegian Erlend Loe, Andrzej Stasiuk from Poland, Jáchym Topol from the Czech Republic and Mario Vargas Llosa from Spain.
