The 2012 Budapest Dance Festival will once again be held at two venues: the National Dance Theatre in the Buda castle and the Festival Theatre of the Palace of Arts (MUPA). The festival programme includes Hungarian and foreign performers.
The South Bohemian Ballet from the Czech Republic will share the stage with Ballet Prague Junior to perform a piece entitled Curtain Up ? Un Ballo ? Bolero which includes a selection of choreographies from the two ensembles? repertoire.
The Compagnie Pál Frenák will perform the show Frisson and the Yvette Bozsik Company will present the new piece Arabian Nights which will premiere at the National Dance Theatre on March 24.
The Budapest Dance Festival traditionally ends with a gala performance celebrating International Dance Day. As usual, the gala will feature past year?s award-winning dancers, including the Győr Ballet, the Central European Dance Theatre, the Pécs Balet, the Szeged Contemporary Ballet, the Compagnie Pal Frenak, the Hungarian Dance College and the Young Hearts Dance Theatre from Bratislava. The performance will be directed by Gábor Mihályi.
